New Office 2007 beta 2 Technical Refresh available for download

I'm a few days late on the draw here, but in case you haven't heard, an updated version of Office 2007 Beta 2 (called a "technical refresh," or TR) is now available for download here.

B2TR includes some spit-and-polish on the UI, better application integration, and some enhanced collaboration features. They also removed the PDF/XPS issue from the Save submenu and now are offering it as a downloadable add-in here.

Note: If you'll be working with PDF/XPS at all, definitely get the download. It's easy to install and use, and it gives you a nearly seamless process for creating, saving, and sending PDF/XPS files on the fly. Nice.

Improved template selection in Word 2007

The process of creating a new document in Word 2007 is much better now. I love the easy way you can find exactly the template you're looking for. Just click in the search box and type a phrase close to what you'd like to do. I was looking for a business plan template for a new startup, and found just what I wanted(a nice plan designed by SCORE, the Senior Corps of Retired Executives).

[FYI...rumor has it that a newer build of Word 2007 will have user ratings for templates so you can test out, rate, and benefit from templates others create and use. Already in this build you can click a link and submit your own. I love the way everything is going toward sharing what works for you.]
